Tip

When I turned from journalism and other nonfiction writing to my first novel, I thought I would have no trouble with that art form. After all, I had been an English Lit major and read more novels than anyone should ever be required to read. I was wrong. I needed to go back and relearn as if it were a complete separate art form. Since then I've noticed many others who would have benefited from some relearning. Thus the Audio Divas include many one-hour segments on the craft of writing. I also suggest classes taught through college extension divisions -- particularly those with writing departments. The reason? There is way too much misinformation circulating on the elements of fiction!

"Just wanted to send a quick note about Sharing with Writers, Carolyn Howard Johnson's weekly e-newsletter. I honestly don't know how she does it. The woman is an incredible dynamo, what with her many speaking engagements, writers' group helmswomanships, and everything else she does. I'm half her age and she wears me out!

"Sharing with Writers is filled with helpful tips, valuable contacts, wonderful advice and invaluable support for everyone on her list. The newsletter appears promptly and never disappoints. I've found more than a few segments that have helped me in my quest to promote what I feel will be the next billion dollar kids' story. Please consider Carolyn's newsletter for any award you administer. She is truly a guiding light for her many followers." ~ Kevin Gerard Kilpatrick author of the The Crossworlds Series
